Nagpur airport is set to expand its air connectivity with new flight routes to Noida, Jaipur, and Kolhapur starting March 30. Along with these, additional flights will be available to cities like Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Indore, and Kolkata. This move comes after the completion of runway recarpeting, which had earlier limited flight operations to the hours between 10 AM and 6 PM.
New Routes and Flight Services
The decision to introduce these new flights was made after a meeting of the slot coordination committee. This committee includes representatives from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Authority of India (AAI), and Mihan India Limited (MIL). With their approval, these new flights have been added to the summer schedule.
IndiGo Airlines and Star Air will operate the daily flights to the newly introduced destinations. This expansion is expected to improve Nagpur's air connectivity and offer passengers more travel options.
Flight Timings for New Destinations
- Jaipur Route (IndiGo Airlines) - Starts on March 30. The flight will land in Nagpur at 11:05 PM and depart at 7:20 AM.
- Kolhapur Route (Star Air) - Starts on April 1. The flight will arrive in Nagpur at 3:45 PM and leave at 4:15 PM.
- Noida Route (IndiGo Airlines) - Starts on April 30. The flight from Nagpur will take off at 4:30 PM.
Additional Flight Services
Apart from the new routes, Nagpur airport will also see more flight services on existing routes:
- Indore - A new flight will start from July 26, arriving at 12:10 PM and departing at 12:35 PM.
- Kolkata to Delhi via Nagpur - From July 30, a flight from Kolkata will land in Nagpur at 12:15 PM and leave for Delhi at 12:45 PM on Wednesdays.
- Pune to Kisangarh - From April 1, a daily flight from Pune will arrive at 1:05 PM and leave for Kisangarh, Rajasthan, at 1:30 PM. Another flight from Pune will land at 3:10 PM and return at 3:45 PM, operating six days a week except Saturdays.
- Bangalore - A new flight will arrive in Nagpur at 2:20 PM and depart at 2:55 PM.
With these new flights, Nagpur airport is set to offer better air connectivity and more travel options for passengers. The recent runway work had restricted operations, but with the expansion of services, both business and leisure travelers will have more convenient options. This development marks a positive step for Nagpur airport, strengthening its role as an important travel hub in the region.
