Mysuru-Kannur Onam Special Train: South Western Railway has Announced Train Services to Handle the Rush

To manage the heavy passenger rush during the Onam festival, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced special train services between Mysuru, Kannur and Bengaluru Cantonment. The additional trains are aimed at providing more travel options for passengers travelling between Karnataka and Kerala during the festive season.

Mysuru-Kannur Onam Special Train

The railway will operate a special train from Mysuru to Kannur on August 29. Train No. 06229 Mysuru-Kannur Express will leave Mysuru at 11:55 pm on Saturday and reach Kannur at 12:45 pm the next day. On the return journey, Train No. 06230 Kannur-Bengaluru Cantonment Express will depart from Kannur at 11:30 pm on Sunday, August 30, and arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment at 12:45 pm on Monday.

Important Stoppages and Train Features

The special trains will stop at several important stations, including Krishnarajanagar, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Bantwal, Mangaluru Junction, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Nileshwar, Payyanur and Kannur, making travel easier for passengers from different parts of Karnataka and Kerala.

The trains will have a variety of coaches to suit different travel needs. The rake will include AC First Class-cum-AC Two Tier, AC Three Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class coaches, offering comfortable travel options for passengers.

Advisory for Passengers

Railway officials expect a large number of passengers and have introduced these special services to reduce waiting lists and ease the festive travel rush. Passengers are advised to book their tickets as early as possible, as demand is expected to remain high during the festival season.
