Mumbai’s Metro Expands: Trial Run for Line 4 and 4A Begins with 10 New Stations

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has started trial runs on a major part of Metro Lines 4 and 4A. This is a big step in making Mumbai's eastern side better connected. The trial is being done on a 10-kilometre stretch between Cadbury and Gaimukh, covering 10 stations. Some of the important stations along this route are Majiwada, Kapurbawadi, and Manpada. These trials show that the MMRDA is working actively to improve Mumbai's metro services, following successful trials on Metro Lines 2B and 9.

Mumbai s Metro Line 4 Trials Begin

Temporary depot plan beyond Gaimukh

The depot for Metro Lines 4 and 4A is still under construction. To keep testing on schedule, MMRDA has made a temporary plan. They are building inspection pits beyond the Gaimukh station. This plan allows the trial runs to continue without any delays. This step also shows that MMRDA is serious about keeping the project moving forward, even while some parts are still being built.

Metro Line 4: A game changer for Mumbai's eastern corridor

Metro Line 4 is a major project that will make a big difference in travel for people living on the eastern side of Mumbai. It will be 32.32 kilometres long and will have 30 stations, connecting Wadala to Kasarvadavali. When completed, this metro line will help reduce travel time by 50% to 75%. It will also help reduce road traffic by offering another option for daily travel. Metro Line 4 will link to other major roads, railways, and future metro lines, helping people move around the city faster and easier.

Government support during Metro Line 9 inspection

Recently, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, inspected the Metro Line 9 corridor. Their review was done between Dahisar (East) and Kashigaon and was part of the trial run for the Mahamumbai Metro Line 9 project. This visit shows that the government is strongly supporting the development of the city's metro system. The leaders believe that the metro project can change the way people travel in Mumbai.

With trial operations starting on Metro Lines 4 and 4A, MMRDA is helping Mumbai move closer to its goal of faster and better-connected travel. Each new section of the metro brings the city nearer to a future with less traffic and more comfort for commuters. Once complete, these lines will play a big role in improving daily life by offering a reliable and quick way to travel.
