The Mira-Bhayandar metro service is expected to start operations next month, Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced on Monday. The new metro line is part of Mumbai Metro Line 9, which is an extension of the existing Line 7. This important project will connect Dahisar East in Mumbai with Mira-Bhayandar

in Thane district, offering residents a faster and more reliable travel option.
Mira-Bhayandar Metro Service
Speaking at a press conference held at the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation headquarters, Sarnaik said the metro construction work is almost complete. He added that people in the area have been waiting for the metro service for a long time, and their wait will soon be over. According to him, he has already discussed the project with the Chief Minister, and the metro will be launched after the local body elections scheduled for February 5.
The minister stated that once operational, the Mira-Bhayandar metro will play a major role in reducing traffic congestion on busy roads and highways in the region. It is expected to make daily travel easier for thousands of commuters who currently depend on overcrowded roads and local transport. The new metro line will also improve overall public transport connectivity between Mumbai and Thane.
Road Infrastructure
Moreover, Sarnaik spoke about road infrastructure developments in Mira-Bhayandar. He stated that all major roads in the area will be concreted over the next one-and-a-half to two years. This move is expected to improve road conditions, reduce dust and potholes, and provide smoother travel for motorists and pedestrians.
The metro service and road development plans together are expected to bring significant improvements to daily life in Mira-Bhayandar. With improved public transportation and road infrastructure, the region is likely to experience less traffic, shorter travel times, and improved urban mobility.
