Commuters using Mumbai Metro Line-1 will now have a chance to save money on travel through a new cashback feature launched by the corridor operator, allowing passengers to earn cashback while shopping online and use that money to reduce their travel expenses.

Mumbai Metro One
Mumbai Metro One, promoted by Reliance Infrastructure, introduced this app-based feature to make daily commuting more affordable. With this system, users can get up to ₹20 cashback on each purchase made through popular e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and Ajio. The cashback is credited instantly and can be transferred directly to the user's bank account, making it easy to use.
Mumbai Metro's RapidCash
This feature, called RapidCash, has been developed in partnership with RapidCash, Acetech Digital, and SequelString AI Pvt Ltd. According to metro officials, the idea is to connect everyday online shopping with travel savings, so passengers can benefit from their regular spending.
A spokesperson from Mumbai Metro One said this is the first time such a feature has been introduced in the metro industry. It gives commuters extra benefits on purchases they already make, without affecting any existing discounts or offers available on shopping platforms.
How will this Benefit passengers?
The launch of this feature is part of Mumbai Metro One's ongoing efforts to improve passenger experience. Over the past 12 years, the operator has introduced several convenient services, including WhatsApp ticket booking, QR-based mobile tickets, Metro Rewards, and unlimited travel passes. The company also highlighted its strong track record, stating that it has served over 120 crore passengers so far while maintaining punctuality of more than 99 percent.
The updated app with the RapidCash feature is now available for download on both Android and iOS devices.
