Hyderabad is set to improve its public transport system with the Phase 2 expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. Once completed, it will be sent to the State Government for approval before being forwarded to the Central Government for final clearance.

The Purple Line of the Hyderabad Metro will include 24 stations, with key stops such as Nagole (Airport), LB Nagar (Airport), and RGIA (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport). While the final station list is still under review, the goal is to ensure a fast and efficient metro connection to the airport.
Once the DPR is finalized, the state and central governments will review it before giving the necessary approvals. After this process, construction will begin, marking an important step in improving Hyderabad's public transport system.
