To manage the extra rush of passengers during the summer season and provide relief, Indian Railways has announced a special train service between Mangaluru and Podanur.
Mangaluru-Podanur Special Train
The special train, numbered 06131, will run as a one-way express service from Mangaluru Central to Podanur Junction. It is scheduled to depart from Mangaluru Central at 11:00 pm on Friday and will reach Podanur Junction at 6:15 am the next day. This overnight journey is expected to be convenient for passengers travelling between these two destinations.
Train Coaches
According to a release by Southern Railway, the train will be a mix of all types of coaches to accommodate passengers with varying travel preferences and budgets. It will include two AC two-tier coaches, eight AC three-tier coaches, six sleeper class coaches, and four second-class general coaches. Moreover, there will be one second-class cum luggage brake van coach and one generator car coach to support onboard services.
