Lucknow: A new 145-kilometer-long State Capital Ring Road is being planned to help reduce traffic and make the roads safer and cleaner. This road will only be used by heavy vehicles like trucks and trailers. Once it is built, these large vehicles will not need to enter the city, which will reduce traffic jams, pollution, and accidents.
Survey Work Has Started
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Awas Vikas Parishad have already started surveying the land for this big project. The road will be built around the city and will connect with many important highways and expressways. This will help heavy vehicles move smoothly from one place to another without coming into Lucknow.
Why This Ring Road Is Important
The main goal of this project is to keep Lucknow's roads free from heavy traffic. Right now, trucks and trailers often pass through the city, creating traffic jams and adding to air pollution. Once the new ring road is ready, they will be diverted outside the city.

Heavy trucks and trailers running on diesel are one of the main causes of air pollution. When they are kept out of the city, it will lead to:
