Barabanki is set to improve its public transport with the introduction of four modern double decker electric buses. These buses will provide a comfortable and eco-friendly travel option for passengers commuting between Barabanki and Lucknow. The new buses have already arrived at the Palhari new bus station, and services are expected to begin in the first week of March after the arrival of the fourth bus.
Modern Features for Passenger Comfort
The double decker electric buses are designed to provide passengers with a better travel experience. These buses come with air-conditioned seating, free Wi-Fi, and a CCTV surveillance system for security. A panic button is also installed for the safety of female passengers. To ensure complete safety, the buses have a first aid box, a fire extinguisher, and an emergency exit.
The new buses are also designed to help differently-abled (Divyang) passengers by providing special facilities for their convenience. Additionally, a live tracking system is included so passengers can check the real-time location of the buses. Each bus has seating for 20 passengers on both the upper and lower decks, allowing a total of 40 passengers to travel at a time.
Plans for More Buses and Routes
Authorities are planning to add more buses in the future. A.K. Awasthi, the center in-charge, shared that around 20 double decker electric buses will be introduced soon. These buses will not only operate on the Barabanki-Lucknow route but also be extended to Ayodhya. This will improve connectivity and make travel easier for passengers. The new Barabanki depot bus station will serve as the main hub for these electric buses.
Service to Start Soon
The services will begin as soon as the final guidelines for route determination are received. ARM Jamila Khatoon has confirmed that preparations are underway to launch the buses as soon as possible. The project highlights the commitment to using modern, sustainable transport solutions and improving public transport between Barabanki and Lucknow.
