List of Trains Cancelled Due to Fog and Cold Wave on January 10

The thick fog covering northern states like Uttar Pradesh has caused severe disruptions in travel. Reduced visibility, especially during early mornings and evenings, has delayed several trains and flights, affecting thousands of passengers. On Friday, the Shram Shakti Express, running from New Delhi to Kanpur Central, was delayed by over seven hours. Other major trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Vande Bharat have also been significantly affected.

List of Trains Cancelled Due to Fog

Trains Struggle to Stay on Schedule

Railway authorities reported that nearly 90% of the 288 trains passing through Kanpur were delayed on Friday. Passengers had to endure long waits at stations as foggy conditions disrupted schedules, particularly in the late evening and early morning. Although train operations remain smoother during daylight hours, dense fog during colder parts of the day has posed challenges for maintaining punctuality.

Adjustments to Train Services

To tackle the disruptions, the railway administration has made changes to train schedules. From January 10 to February 26, several trains have been cancelled, including the Surat-Chhapra weekly train and the Ahmedabad-Patna weekly train. These adjustments aim to manage operations better during the ongoing weather challenges.

In addition to the cancellations, the first train for Mahakumbh departed from Govindpuri at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, the much-anticipated metro services in Kanpur are expected to start by the end of February, improving local travel options. However, the metro's trial run to the central station is awaiting approval from the chief minister, who has requested more time for the inauguration.
