The annual flower show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden in Bengaluru is set to captivate visitors once again. This year, on the occasion of Independence Day the event will tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, featuring a stunning floral replica of his life and contributions.

The event will run from August 8 to August 19, 2024. Entry fees are ₹80 for adults on weekdays and ₹100 on weekends. Children can enter for ₹30 on all days. School children in uniform are granted free entry. Visitors can enjoy the floral displays from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Environmental Initiatives
This year's show aims to be waste-free. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has implemented strict guidelines to reduce plastic use. Vendors are encouraged to use cloth bags instead of plastic ones.
"While the use of plastic has decreased significantly within the premises, we still urge visitors to bring their own cloth bags," said a BBMP official.

The garden is easily accessible via public transport, with the nearest metro station being Lalbagh. There are direct metro train services from Yeshwanthpur and Magestic Railway Stations. Direct BMTC buses are there from all the major areas like, JP Nagar, Kormangla, Magestic, KR Market, Bannerghatta Road, Jayanagar, Kanakpura Road, Mysore Road, Devanahalli, Malleshwaram, etc.
Community Involvement
The event is supported by various organisations, including Bharat Scouts and Guides, Saahas Zero Waste, and the Indian Army. Volunteers from these groups will assist in maintaining cleanliness throughout the event.
"Our volunteers are committed to ensuring that the event remains waste-free," said a representative from Saahas Zero Waste.

To ensure a smooth experience, visitors are advised to follow all guidelines strictly. Non-compliance could result in fines up to ₹5,000.
"We request everyone to adhere to the rules for a pleasant experience," added another BBMP official.
