Southern Railway has announced special trains to Kerala to help passengers travel easily during the Vishu festival and to manage the extra rush during the holiday period.
Chennai to Kollam Special Train
One special train, numbered 06119, will run from MGR Chennai Central to Kollam Junction. It will leave Chennai at 3:10 p.m. on April 15 and reach Kollam at 6:55 a.m. the next day. For the return journey, train number 06120 will depart from Kollam at 10:40 a.m. on April 16 and arrive back at Chennai Central at 3:30 a.m. the following day.
Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram Special Train
Another special train, number 06115, will operate from Chennai Egmore to Thiruvananthapuram North. This train will leave Chennai Egmore at 11:55 p.m. on April 10 and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 6:00 p.m. the next day. On the return trip, train number 06116 will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 3:45 p.m. on April 15 and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 11:45 a.m. the next day.
Why are these Special Trains Important?
These Kerala special trains have been introduced to provide more travel options and reduce crowding during the busy festival season. Many people travel between Tamil Nadu and Kerala during Vishu, so these services will make journeys more comfortable and convenient.
