The India Meteorological Department has predicted a mix of summer rain and strong heat across Kerala in the coming days. According to the forecast, temperatures are expected to rise significantly in many districts.

High Temperatures in Kerala
The maximum temperature may reach around 38°C in Kollam, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Kasaragod. In districts such as Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kannur, temperatures may rise to 37°C. Meanwhile, Pathanamthitta is expected to see temperatures around 36°C, about 2 to 3°C higher than normal. Due to the combination of high temperatures and humidity, the weather is likely to feel very hot and uncomfortable in most of these areas, especially until April 14, 2026. However, hilly regions may experience slightly better conditions.
Kerala Rain Alert
At the same time, the weather department has issued a green alert across all districts due to the chance of light rainfall. Some places may receive rain along with thunderstorms and winds reaching speeds up to 40 kmph.
Despite these changing weather conditions, there is good news for fishermen. The department has said that fishing activities can continue safely along the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts, as there is no warning of strong winds or rough sea conditions, and no major threat is expected from the sea at present.
