The four holiest temples viz., Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath are included in the Char Dham yatra. Long hikes and days of walking are required to complete the journey. Two of the four sacred Char Dham Yatra pilgrimage destinations Kedarnath and Badrinath are ready to open their doors to devotees.
Every year, thousands of devotees travel the Char Dham yatra. All pilgrims place a great deal of importance on the date that the door opens. According to the temple's administrative board, Badrinath Dham will open on the 27th of April 2023, Thursday, while Kedarnath will welcome devotees on the 25th of April 2023.
The declaration was made at an event at the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath. The auspicious day of Akshay Tritya, which is announced on Maha Shiva Ratri, determines the opening day and hour of the Kedarnath Temple.
After calculating the Panchang, priests at the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath choose the day that the Kedarnath shrine would open. Calculations indicate that a special Pooja will be performed in the temple on April 25, 2023, at 6:20 am, to open the sacred temple's doors. Kedarnath Dham's opening day has been set for Mahashivratri in 2023.
Kedarnath will officially shut down 2 days after Bhai Dooj, the festival that follows Diwali. Diwali will be observed on November 12, 2023, hence Kedarnath Temple might close its doors on 14th November 2023.

Opening and Closing dates of Kedarnath:
25th April 2023 will be the opening date declared by the officials and 14th November 2023 will be the tentative closing date.
Opening and Closing dates of Badrinath:
27th April 2023 will be the opening date declared by the officials and 21st November 2023 will be the tentative closing date.
Registrations:
Following the Kedarnath flood in 2014, the Uttarakhand government required photometric/biometric registration of pilgrims travelling on the Char Dham Yatra in order to enter the state. After the registration process is complete, photometric/biometric cards are issued.
The government mandated that all visitors to the Chardham Yatra register by 2023. After completing the online or offline registration process, visitors are also issued a Yatra registration letter.
Chardham Yatra registration is available both online and offline. If you choose to register online, go to www.registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in, which is the official website. There are a number of registration counters situated throughout the Chardham Yatra route for offline registration as well.

No money is required from devotees to register for Chardham; you can do it for free at registration booths or on the official website. Every year, the Char Dham Yatra will begin in April or May and last until October or November.
According to SS Samant, senior research officer for the tourism department, pilgrims can register online through WhatsApp, the department's website, and a unique mobile app that will be available for download by April and be available for trial within a week or so.
Online registration, he continued, will also motivate pilgrims to make detailed travel plans. During the first week of April, Samant predicted, users will be able to download the Char Dham yatra mobile app from the Apple and Google app stores.
