Karnataka Trains Got Cancelled by South Western Railway Due to Ongoing Maintenance & Infrastructure Work

List of Trains to be Cancelled Temporarily

According to railway officials, two passenger trains, Train No. 56629, Mangaluru-Subrahmanya Road Passenger, and Train No. 56630, Subrahmanya Road-Mangaluru Passenger, will be cancelled for a total of 35 days. The cancellations will happen in two phases: from March 23 to April 14, and again from June 10 to June 21. These steps are being taken to conduct important track maintenance and improve safety in the future.

Trains to Face Minor Delays

Despite cancellations, some express trains will also experience minor delays, especially in April. Trains like the Yeshwantpur-Karwar Express and Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Express are expected to run about 20 minutes late on certain days. These small delays are planned to adjust train schedules during the ongoing work.

Further disruptions are expected over a longer period for some passenger trains. Train No. 56229, Mangaluru-Subrahmanya Road Passenger, will run nearly 55 minutes late from April 21 to June 9, which is almost 50 days. Similarly, Train No. 56630 will also be delayed by around 15 minutes on 22 selected days during the same period.

Why are the Changes Necessary?

Railway officials have stated that these changes are carefully planned to balance maintenance work with passenger convenience. While the disruptions may cause short-term inconvenience for passengers, they are necessary to improve track quality, ensure smoother operations, and provide safer train journeys in the long run.
