Due to changing climate patterns, Karnataka is experiencing unusual weather, with rainfall occurring even during the summer season. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that pre-monsoon rains are heavier because of weather systems, including troughs and cyclonic activity over the sea. As a result, thunderstorms are expected in some coastal,

Malnad, and interior districts over the next three days.
Karnataka Weather Change
The IMD explained that a north-south trough, also known as a wind discontinuity, is currently extending from North Madhya Pradesh to South Tamil Nadu through Vidarbha. This system is present at about 0.9 km above sea level and is influencing the weather over parts of Maharashtra and interior Karnataka. Another trough is active along the coasts of Kerala and Karnataka at a height of around 1.5 km. Though a cyclonic circulation over Marathwada has weakened, these systems are still causing rain, humidity, and foggy conditions in several places.
Karnataka Rain Alert
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely in districts including Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, and Mysuru. Coastal areas such as Dakshina Kannada may receive limited rainfall, while foggy conditions are expected in Uttara Kannada and Udupi. Strong winds of 30-40 kmph may occur in parts of North Karnataka, including Bagalkot, Dharwad, and Gadag. Despite the rainfall, temperatures remain very high across the state. Many districts are recording temperatures above 40°C. Kalaburagi recorded 41°C, while Vijayapura saw 40°C. Other areas, including Raichur and Koppal, recorded around 39°C.
Bengaluru Weather
In Bengaluru, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry, with hazy conditions in the evening. Temperatures will range between 24°C and 36°C.
