In a recent update from the Karnataka Government Secretariat, vehicle owners in the state received good news. The timeline for affixing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) has been extended for all classes of vehicles registered before April 1, 2019. The extension comes as part of the Government Notification NO.TD 193 TDO 2021, initially dated August 17, 2023, and later on November 16, 2023.

What is the Extended Deadline?
According to the latest notification dated February 16, 2024, vehicle owners now have until May 31, 2024, to ensure their vehicles are equipped with the mandated High-Security Registration Plates. This extension provides some relief and additional time for vehicle owners to comply with the HSRP requirement.
No Other Changes in the Notification
It's important to note that, besides the extension of the deadline, there are no other alterations in the existing Notification NO.TD 193 TDO 2021, as per the announcement.
