Lok Sabha Elections: Bengaluru Offers Free Dosa, Mocktail, Rides, and More Discounts to Voters

As Karnataka prepares for the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the state is bracing for a two-phase polling process. With a total of 28 seats up for grabs, half of them will head to the polling booths on April 26 in the second phase, while the remaining constituencies will cast their votes on May 7. Bengaluru Central is among the areas set to vote on Friday.

Bengaluru s Unique Voter Incentives

Encouraging Voter Turnout

Traditionally, urban areas witness lower voter turnout compared to rural regions. In a bid to boost participation, various initiatives have been rolled out across Bengaluru to incentivize voters. From complimentary meals to discounts on transportation and entertainment, several establishments are extending offers to those who exercise their franchise.

Malgudi Mylari Mane is providing free Mylari dosa and filter coffee, while Cafe Udupi Ruchi is offering a complimentary mocktail to voters. Additionally, Iyengar's Oven Fresh Bakery and Kamat Hosaruchi in Orion Mall and Lulu Mall are providing a 10 percent discount to voters. Mr. Philly's is offering a 30 percent discount on their burgers and milkshakes, and Wonderla Holidays has announced a 15 percent discount for voters for three days following the election.

Free Rides

In a bid to ensure accessibility for all voters, Bengaluru-based ride-hailing platform Rapido has announced free auto and cab rides for differently-abled and senior citizen voters in Bengaluru on polling day. With the support of the Election Commission of India (ECI), Rapido will also offer free bike taxi rides to voters across Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru on election day.
