The modernization of Kalupur railway station is progressing quickly, with multiple projects happening at the same time. The National High-Speed Rail Corporation has started construction on platforms 10, 11, and 12 as part of the bullet train station's integration with the station's redevelopment. Renovation work is also being carried out on the station building and nearby infrastructure. Platform number 9 has been taken over by RLD for renovation, ensuring that the station's upgrade does not affect its daily operations.
Managing Train Services During Construction
To keep train services running smoothly during the construction, railway authorities have planned carefully to avoid major disruptions. Initially, there was a proposal to shift train departures and arrivals from Ahmedabad to alternate stations such as Maninagar and Vatva because of the heavy construction on platforms 9 and 10. However, instead of rerouting trains, the authorities are now ensuring that train operations continue at Kalupur station with minimal changes.
In the next phases of the project, additional platforms may be temporarily closed for construction. To manage this, trains that currently operate from platforms 6, 7, and 8 will be shifted to the newly renovated platforms 9 and 10. This plan will help maintain regular train services while allowing construction work to proceed without interruption.
