In a press conference held on Friday, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia shared a comprehensive plan for the future of India's aviation and railway sectors. By 2030, the nation is set to boast more than 200 airports, while the current 23 Vande Bharat Express trains will see a remarkable surge to 4,500 by 2047. Boosting Rail Connectivity:
Jyotiraditya Scindia has pledged a significant uplift for the Indian Railways, envisioning a robust network of 4,500 Vande Bharat trains traversing the nation by 2047. Currently, 23 Vande Bharat trains operate across the country, connecting cities that are 10 hours apart. The ambitious plan is aligned with the mission to strengthen rail infrastructure and propel India into a leading position in railway services globally.
Carbon-Neutral Railways:
In a move towards sustainable transportation, Scindia emphasized the government's commitment to reducing carbon emissions from trains to net zero in the coming years. The minister highlighted that the current capacity for implementing national highway projects is 37 km per day, a number set to increase significantly to 60 km per day by 2047.
