Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express: The Ministry of Railways has Increased the Coaches to Boost Travel

The Ministry of Railways has increased the number of coaches in the Vande Bharat Express running between Jodhpur and Delhi due to rising passenger demand.

Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express

The train, which earlier operated with 8 coaches, will now run with 20 coaches so that more passengers can travel comfortably and get better seat availability. Narendra Modi inaugurated the Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express on September 25, 2025, and began commercial operations on September 27, 2025. Railways stated that the number of passengers using the train has been increasing steadily. Keeping this growing demand in mind, the decision was taken to expand the train from 8 coaches to 20 coaches.

Special Event to Take Place

On May 22, 2026, a special event will be held in Jodhpur where Ashwini Vaishnaw and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will officially flag off the upgraded train service after the coach expansion.

Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Express Operations & Timings

The Train No. 26481 and 26482 between Jodhpur and Delhi Cantt. It covers a total distance of 606 kilometres in around 8 hours and 5 minutes. The service operates six days a week and remains cancelled on Tuesdays. The train is maintained and operated by North Western Railway. During the journey, the train stops at nine stations. These include Merta Road, Degana, Makrana, Phulera, Gandhinagar, Jaipur, Alwar, Rewari, and Gurgaon.

According to the schedule, Train No. 26481 leaves Jodhpur at 5:30 AM and reaches Jaipur at 9:20 AM before arriving at Delhi Cantt at 1:30 PM. On the return journey, Train No. 26482 departs from Delhi Cantt at 3:10 PM, reaches Jaipur at 7:00 PM, and arrives in Jodhpur at 11:20 PM.

Railway officials said the increase in coaches will help meet the travel needs of passengers from Rajasthan and nearby regions more effectively.
