To manage the extra rush and waiting lists during Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath Puja, the Railway has decided to operate three pairs of reserved Festival Special Trains via the Jammu Division. These special trains will provide additional travel options for devotees visiting Mata Vaishno Devi and passengers travelling towards Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. All the trains will have modern LHB coaches, which offer safer, faster and more comfortable travel.
Jammu Festival Special Trains
The first service is Train No. 04604/04603 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Varanasi-Katra Reserved Special. It will make nine trips in both the up and down directions. Train No. 04604 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra every Sunday at 6:15 PM from October 4 to November 29, 2026, and reach Varanasi at 6:30 PM the following day. The return train, 04603, will run from Varanasi from October 6 to December 1, 2026, every Tuesday at 4:30 AM.
The train will stop at Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, Jammu Tawi, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Alamnagar, Rae Bareli and Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh.
The second service is Train No. 04610/04609 Jammu Tawi-Varanasi-Jammu Tawi Reserved Special, which will also make nine trips in both directions. Train No. 04610 will operate from October 1 to November 26, 2026, every Thursday at 5:15 AM, reaching Varanasi at 5:10 AM the next day. Train No. 04609 will leave Varanasi from October 2 to November 27, every Friday at 9:00 AM and reach Jammu Tawi at 8:30 AM the next day. It will benefit passengers from Pathankot, Jalandhar, Ambala, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow and Sultanpur.
The third service, Train No. 04081/04082 New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Festival Special, will make four trips in both directions. Train No. 04081 will leave New Delhi on October 8, 9, 10, and 11 at 11:45 PM and reach Katra at 12:00 PM the next day. Train No. 04082 will leave Katra on October 9, 10, 11, and 12 at 9:00 PM and reach New Delhi at 10:00 AM the following day. The service will provide direct and fast connectivity to Katra for devotees from Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.
