Indigo's Fare Revision: IndiGo has Revised the Charges for Optional Services on its Domestic Flights

IndiGo has revised the charges for several optional services on its domestic flights. Passengers will now have to pay more for infant travel, excess baggage, unaccompanied minor services, priority check-in and boarding, and travel certificates. The revised charges increase the cost of these additional services, while the basic airfare may remain unchanged.

IndiGo's Fare Revision

Under the new charges, the fee for an infant travelling with an accompanying adult has increased from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000. The charge applies to infants aged more than three days and up to two years. IndiGo does not provide a separate seat for infants, who must travel on the lap of an accompanying adult. Only one infant is allowed per adult passenger. The infant fee has to be paid at the time of booking, and passengers may need to carry valid proof of the child's age during the journey.

The airline has also increased its excess baggage fee for domestic flights. Passengers carrying luggage beyond their permitted allowance will now be charged ₹800 per kg, compared with ₹700 earlier, and will pay ₹100 more for every additional kilogram of baggage. The charge for IndiGo's unaccompanied minor service has also gone up from ₹5,000 to ₹5,999 for children travelling without an accompanying adult and is subject to the airline's eligibility and travel rules. The combined fee for priority check-in and priority boarding has increased from ₹450 to ₹650, a rise of ₹200. IndiGo has also raised the travel certificate fee from ₹200 to ₹300.

These changes mean passengers using these optional services on domestic IndiGo flights will have to budget for higher additional charges.
