Delhi Metro commuters can now book QR-based tickets directly through the ixigo Trains app, forming a new partnership between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), and ixigo. With this integration, passengers can pay through the app, avoid ticket queues, and plan complete journeys

across trains, buses, flights, hotels, and now metro services all from one platform. Moreover, Ixigo is offering 100% cashback (up to ₹50) for first-time users in ixigo money for bookings made between 9 am and 11 am.
Ixigo Train App to Boost Delhi Metro Commutation
Dinesh Kumar Kotha, CEO of ixigo Trains & Confirmtkt, said that millions already use ixigo for inter-city travel, and this new feature will make last-mile connectivity in Delhi more seamless, as direct in-app bookings will save commuters valuable time and provide a smoother travel experience. Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, stated that DMRC is committed to adopting new methods that improve passengers' commutation. Partnering with a trusted platform like ixigo, he noted, gives commuters more flexibility and encourages the wider usage of digital ticketing. Vibhor Jain, Acting CEO and COO of ONDC, added that this is more than just a convenience feature, as the initiative helps build a unified mobility network for India. Such an open and interoperable system, he said, can transform urban travel by making it easier to plan end-to-end journeys.
DMRC currently operates nearly 400 km of network across multiple lines, making it India's largest metro system. In August 2025, it recorded its highest single-day ridership of over 81 lakh passenger trips. For ixigo, which has introduced innovations like waitlist predictions and AR coach locators since 2013, metro ticketing integration is another step toward smarter travel solutions.
