Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati
Your trip begins in Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India. Upon arrival at the Guwahati airport or railway station, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel. After check-in, you can relax and enjoy your evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Guwahati.
Day 2: Guwahati to Shillong (130 km / 3 hours drive)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and visit the famous Maa Kamakhya Temple, a major pilgrimage site. After darshan, you will proceed to Shillong, also called the "Scotland of the East." Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and later visit Don Bosco Museum and Lady Hydari Park. In the evening, you can relax or explore the local markets. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Shillong.
Day 3: Excursion to Cherrapunjee (60 km / 2 hours drive)
After breakfast, head for an exciting excursion to Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places on Earth. Visit beautiful attractions like Elephanta Falls, Dwan Syiem Viewpoint, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Caves, and Seven Sister Falls. After exploring the stunning landscapes, return to your hotel in Shillong. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Shillong.
Day 4: Shillong to Dawki and Mawlynnong (85 km / 3 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive to Dawki, a beautiful town near the Bangladesh border, known for its crystal-clear Umngot River. After enjoying the scenic views, proceed to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. Here, you will visit the famous Living Root Bridge, a unique natural wonder. Later, return to Shillong for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Shillong to Jowai (65 km / 2 hours drive)
After breakfast, take a trip to Jowai in the Jaintia Hills, home of the Jaintia tribes of Meghalaya. Explore the beautiful Thadlaskein Lake, Tyrshi Falls, and Krangsuri Falls. Visit the Durga Temple and Nartiang Monolith Park, which features large stone structures with historical significance. In the evening, return to Shillong for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Shillong to Guwahati (130 km / 3 hours drive)
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Guwahati. En route, visit the serene Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani. On arrival in Guwahati, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a river cruise on the Brahmaputra River (at your own cost). Later, explore the local markets for shopping. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Guwahati.
Day 7: Departure from Guwahati
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Guwahati airport or railway station for your return journey, carrying back beautiful memories of Meghalaya.
