Arunachal Pradesh is set to become home to India's first integrated Aqua Park and the Northeast's first fish museum. These exciting new developments are located in Tarin (Ziro) in the Lower Subansiri district. The park and museum aim to support the blue revolution and boost the fisheries sector in the region.

The Integrated Aqua Park is a significant project sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Fisheries. This park, costing ₹50 crores, will have ₹45.11 crores funded by the Central government. It is part of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), which focuses on improving the fisheries value chain, productivity, and infrastructure.
Fish Museum
The fish museum, housed within the Aqua Park, will showcase various fish species from Arunachal Pradesh. It will also serve as a training center for fishermen. The existing Train Fish Farm (TFF) in high-altitude Bulla Village will be expanded to accommodate the fish museum. For this purpose, a total of ₹43.59 crores has been approved in the current financial year.
Minister's Announcement
State Horticulture and Agriculture Minister Gabriel D Wangsu announced the upcoming inauguration in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on July 5. After reviewing the project's progress, Minister Wangsu shared his excitement about the park's potential. "India's first Integrated Aqua Park & Aqua Museum at Tarin in Ziro shall be opened soon. Accompanied by senior officers I reviewed progress of project, stretching over 10 Hecs in picturesque Ziro valley, today. The park shall boost tourism and immensely benefit local community." he wrote. The project aims to promote sustainable tourism while supporting local livelihoods.
Minister Wangsu, accompanied by senior officers, inspected the development of the park, which spans over 10 hectares in the scenic Ziro valley. This park is expected to become a major attraction, enhancing the region's tourism potential and providing substantial benefits to the local community.
