India's vision for high-speed rail took a significant leap forward as Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled a captivating video showcasing the country's inaugural bullet train terminal at the Sabarmati Multimodal Transport Hub in Ahmedabad.

This terminal, a testament to India's ambition in the realm of high-speed rail, is poised to serve passengers traveling on the much-anticipated Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train.
Japanese Expertise Fuels the Project
The bullet train project is a collaborative effort with both technical and financial support from the Government of Japan. Envisioned to connect Ahmedabad and Mumbai in a swift 2.07 hours, the train is designed to achieve a maximum speed of 350 km per hour.
State-of-the-Art Terminal for a Groundbreaking Journey

Equipped with state-of-the-art features, the terminal stands ready to cater to the passengers of India's first-ever bullet train. The project encompasses a double line spanning 508 kilometers, featuring tunnels and undersea passages. The anticipated cost of the venture is Rs 1,08,000 Crore, with a substantial 81% covered by a Japanese soft loan, boasting a nominal interest rate of 0.1% per annum and a generous repayment period of 50 years, including a 15-year grace period.
Inauguration and Commencement Timeline
Initiated in 2017, the project was launched during a commencement ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan. The development is being executed under the technical and functional guidance of Shinkansen Technology, renowned for its reliability and safety, with a proven track record spanning over 50 years.
High-Speed Rail Vision Expanding Across India

With the success of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai corridor in focus, the Indian government has outlined plans for six additional High-Speed Rail (HSR) corridors, promising a transformative impact on the country's connectivity:
1. Delhi - Varanasi
2. Delhi - Ahmedabad
3. Mumbai - Nagpur
4. Mumbai - Hyderabad
5. Chennai - Mysore
6. Delhi - Amritsar
