Rakhi Travel Rush: Indian Railways Adds New Special Trains to Ease Delhi-UP Crowding

Rakhi travel peaks this week as Indian Railways rolls out festival specials on Delhi–Uttar Pradesh corridors. Starting today, August 25, Train 02275 Subedarganj–Shakur Basti runs from Prayagraj to Delhi; return 02276 operates tomorrow. Extra trips on August 30 and 31 align with Raksha Bandhan on August 28, giving late planners a vital window.

Northern Railway’s Agra division has readied three more specials on the Delhi–Agra–Jhansi–Khajuraho axis. 01901/01902 and 01903/01904 Jhansi–Hazrat Nizamuddin operate between August 26 and 31, while 01913/01914 Khajuraho–Hazrat Nizamuddin runs on August 26, 28 and 30. Halts include Agra Cantt, Mathura and Kosi Kalan, easing NCR inflow around the festive peak.
