Indian Railways has introduced 'SwaRail', a Super App that combines multiple travel services into a single platform. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the app aims to make train travel easier for passengers. It allows users to book reserved and unreserved tickets, check PNR status, order food, and make parcel and freight inquiries-all in one app. Earlier, passengers had to use different apps for these services, but SwaRail simplifies the process with a user-friendly interface.

One App for All Railway Services
Before SwaRail, passengers used separate apps like IRCTC Rail Connect for reserved tickets and UTS Mobile for unreserved tickets. Now, SwaRail brings everything together, making train travel more convenient.
Currently, the app is in beta testing and available to select users on Android and iOS. The beta testing limit for Android has already been reached, but Indian Railways has confirmed that the app will soon be available for public use. This step reflects Indian Railways' commitment to using technology for a better travel experience.
How to Use SwaRail?
To access SwaRail, users need to download the app and log in. They can register as new users or use their existing login details from Rail Connect or UTS Mobile. The app ensures a smooth transition of travel history and includes an MPIN setup for security.
Key Features of SwaRail
- Easy ticket booking for reserved and unreserved travel
- PNR status checks and real-time train updates
- Food ordering for a better travel experience

A Step Towards Smarter Railway Services
SwaRail is a big step towards simplifying train travel. It merges multiple services into one easy-to-use app, ensuring a hassle-free journey for millions of passengers. Indian Railways continues to focus on technology-driven improvements to enhance passenger convenience.
