Trains between Hyderabad and Bengaluru are expected to run faster soon, as Indian Railways has finished doubling the tracks on the route. This means there are now two sets of tracks instead of one, which allows trains to move more smoothly and avoid delays. With this upgrade, trains will be

able to run at higher speeds, improving travel times for passengers.
Completion of Track Work
The South Western Railway has completed track work between important sections, including the stretch from Makajipalli to Dharmavaram in Andhra Pradesh. This 30-kilometre portion has been opened for regular trains to operate and has passed safety checks. Officials also tested trains at speeds above 120 km/h during trial runs, showing the track improvements are working well.
Increase in Train Speed
In addition to doubling the track, another part of the rail line from Yelahanka to Dharmavaram is being upgraded to allow trains to travel at up to 130 km per hour. Once this work is finished, possibly by March, more trains will be able to reach this higher speed. This upgrade will benefit many passenger services, including fast trains like the Kacheguda-Yesvantpur Vande Bharat Express, which already connects Hyderabad with Bengaluru in about eight hours.
Moreover, these track improvements mean that passengers can look forward to shorter travel times, smoother journeys, and more reliable train schedules between the two major cities. Faster rail travel will especially help people who commute for work, business travellers, and holidaymakers who use this busy corridor.
