The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Delhi over the weekend, following Friday's showers that brought relief from the heat. Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kmph are expected at isolated locations across Delhi and neighbouring states.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Delhi due to these weather conditions, with "very heavy rainfall" expected until July 1. The weather pattern also affects regions such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Weather Forecast for Other States
Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on June 29th and 30th, Punjab on June 30th and July 1st, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi from June 29th to July 1st, and Uttar Pradesh between June 29th and 30th. East Rajasthan is expected to experience this weather pattern from June 29th to July 2nd, while Madhya Pradesh will likely see heavy rainfall on June 29th.
Odisha is predicted to have heavy rainfall from June 29th to 30th. Widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Kerala & Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Goa, Gujarat State, and Madhya Maharashtra.
Risk of Fresh Floods in Northeast
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh are bracing for widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning on Saturday. Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will also face similar conditions in the coming days. The IMD warns of a high risk of flash floods in certain areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya within the next 24 hours.
