The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted significant rainfall across various regions of India in the coming days. As Raksha Bandhan approaches on Monday, an orange alert has been issued for Uttar Pradesh, predicting very heavy rain today and tomorrow.

In addition to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand is also under weather warnings. A yellow alert has been issued for today, followed by an orange alert for Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, Delhi can expect a cloudy sky with light rain in the upcoming days.
Weather Alerts Across Northern India
The IMD's latest bulletin indicates a yellow alert for heavy showers in several states over the next three to four days. These states include parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. Rajasthan is also expected to experience heavy rain soon.
Central India will see fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. The IMD predicts isolated heavy rain in parts of Madhya Pradesh, including Vidarbha. Chhattisgarh is likely to experience heavy downpours today and tomorrow.
Rainfall Predictions for West and Central India
West India will have scattered to fairly widespread rainfall during the week. Heavy showers are anticipated in Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Konkan, and Goa over the next two to three days.
In East and Northeast India, heavy to very heavy showers are expected throughout the week. States such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh will likely receive substantial rainfall until August 24.
Southern India's Weather Outlook
The southern states are also bracing for heavy to very heavy showers until August 21. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Lakshadweep are expected to see significant rainfall over the next two to three days.
