Metro rail expansion proposal

Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy shared the details with the media. He said that Union Ministers from Telangana-G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar-along with BJP Lok Sabha member Eatala Rajender, should support this project. The state has urged them to talk to the Central government and help get the proposal approved.

The collaboration between the Telangana government and the Centre is important for the success of this large metro project. The new extension will help more people in the city travel faster and more comfortably. This will also reduce traffic on the roads and improve the environment by cutting pollution.

Part of urban development

The metro expansion is part of the state's larger plan to improve Hyderabad's urban infrastructure. With the city's population growing, better and faster public transport is necessary. The extended metro lines will connect more areas and reduce travel time for daily commuters. This move will also support Hyderabad's development as a modern, smart city.

Other cabinet decisions

During the cabinet meeting, other important announcements were made. The cabinet approved the naming of a new Earth Sciences University in Bhadradri-Kothagudem after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Minister Reddy said this was done in honour of Singh's key role in the formation of Telangana during the UPA government.

The Chief Minister also announced that the government has agreed to release Dearness Allowance (DA) for state employees. Another round of DA will be given in the next six months. A new health trust for employees will also be created. Employees will contribute Rs 500 each month, and the government will match this amount every year. This trust will manage health cards and include representatives from employees and the government.

In addition, the cabinet decided that families of Self-Help Group members who die in accidents will receive Rs 10 lakh in financial aid.

With the proposed metro expansion and other welfare steps, Telangana is showing strong efforts to improve public services and build a better future for its people.
