On Tuesday, Revanth Reddy is scheduled to meet Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Revanth Reddy to Seek Approval for Finances for Hyderabad Metro Phase I
During his meeting with Ram Mohan Naidu, the Chief Minister is expected to seek faster progress on the proposed airports in Warangal, Adilabad, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts. With Khattar, he will request quicker approval for financial support for Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) Phase-I, which will help the state complete the takeover of the project from L&T. He is also expected to push for approval of the HMR Phase-III expansion.
Revanth Reddy will discuss the Regional Ring Road project and other important highway developments with Nitin Gadkari. He is also likely to seek the Centre's approval for its financial contribution and statutory clearances for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II. Special focus will be on improving metro connectivity to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad and linking the proposed Future City through new metro corridors.
Additional Issues
The Chief Minister is also expected to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil to discuss irrigation-related issues. He will likely request early approvals for pending projects in the Godavari and Krishna river basins, release of Central funds, and solutions to inter-state river water disputes.
Apart from meeting Union ministers, Revanth Reddy is expected to hold discussions with senior Congress leaders on organisational matters. He is likely to discuss appointments to state-run corporations after the terms of 37 chairpersons ended recently. The Chief Minister is also expected to submit the final list of recommended names for approval, paving the way for filling long-pending vacancies in state corporations and other nominated posts.
