Union Minority Affairs Minister, Smriti Zubin Irani, unveiled the Haj Suvidha App during a two-day Training of Trainers Programme at Vigyan Bhavan on Sunday. The initiative aims to streamline the annual pilgrimage by providing essential information and direct access to services like training modules, flight details, and accommodation for pilgrims embarking on Haj 2024.
Empowering Trainers for a Fulfilling Pilgrimage
Over 550 trainers from various states and Union Territories participated in the Training of Trainers Programme. The objective is to educate trainers who will further impart knowledge to Haj pilgrims, ensuring they have a meaningful and well-informed experience during the pilgrimage.
The Significance of the Haj Suvidha App
Developed by BISAG-N under the guidance of the Union Minister for Minority Affairs, the Haj Suvidha App promises to revolutionize the pilgrimage experience. By leveraging digital and mobile technologies, the app offers easy access to vital services like training modules, flight details, accommodation, emergency helpline, and health. Pilgrims can now focus on their spiritual journey, leaving mundane tasks like travel and documentation to the app.
Making Haj Accessible and Inclusive
Irani emphasized the government's commitment to making Haj inclusive and accessible, especially for pilgrims under the Ladies Without Mehram category. The Haj Suvidha App ensures better access to facilities, administrative coordination, and prompt grievance redressal, enhancing the overall pilgrimage experience.
Enhanced Training for a Safe Journey
Recognizing the importance of training, the government has increased the ratio of trainers per pilgrim from 1:300 to 1:150. This initiative aims to provide a safer, more peaceful, and comfortable Haj experience for Indian pilgrims.
