Guwahati Sees Launch of 3 New Trains and Road Over Bridge; Check Details

Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, will visit Assam for a day to inaugurate several projects and review ongoing developments in the state. This visit highlights the government's focus on improving transportation, communication, and technology in the region.

Guwahati Sees Launch of 3 New Trains

New Train Services to Enhance Connectivity

As part of the visit, three new trains will be introduced from Guwahati:

1. Guwahati-New Lakhimpur Janshatabdi Express

2. New Bongaigaon-Guwahati Passenger Train

3. Tinsukia-Naharlagun Express

These new train services aim to strengthen rail connectivity in Assam, making travel easier and more accessible for residents and visitors. Improved rail links will benefit people traveling for work, education, and leisure, boosting regional mobility and economic growth.

FM Coverage to Reach Millions

In addition to the train launches, Vaishnaw will inaugurate a 10 KW FM transmitter at Akashvani Kokrajhar. This new facility will extend FM radio coverage to Kokrajhar and nearby districts, including Dhubri, Bongaigaon, and Chirang. With a 70 km radius of coverage, the transmitter is expected to reach 30 lakh people, offering clearer reception and better access to FM radio programs.

This marks a significant upgrade from the older 20 KW Medium Wave transmitter, which has been serving the region since 1999. The new transmitter will enhance communication and entertainment for residents.

Infrastructure and Education Developments

The minister will also dedicate the Tetelia Road Over Bridge at Dispur, improving transportation infrastructure in the area. This project is part of the government's efforts to enhance road networks and ease traffic congestion.

Additionally, Vaishnaw will virtually inaugurate the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology, now recognized as a university. This institution will play a vital role in advancing education and research in electronics and information technology, contributing to skill development and innovation in the region.

Promoting High-Tech Industries

Another key highlight of the visit is Vaishnaw's stop at the Tata Semiconductor factory in Jagiroad. This visit underscores the government's commitment to promoting high-tech industries in Assam, aligning with India's broader goals of fostering innovation and technological growth.

The minister will review ongoing projects under the Northeast Frontier Railway, ensuring that efforts to enhance rail infrastructure and services in the region remain on track.

Ashwini Vaishnaw's visit to Assam brings significant advancements in transportation, broadcasting, and technology. The launch of new trains, improved FM coverage, and the focus on education and high-tech industries reflect the government's commitment to the region's development. These initiatives aim to make Assam a hub of connectivity, information access, and innovation.
