The Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a grand spiritual gathering, is attracting devotees from across India and the world, including a large number from Gujarat. To make their journey easier, Gujarat Tourism and the State Transport (ST) Department have introduced special travel packages. Priced at ₹8,100, these packages offer travel options by flight, train, and Volvo bus, ensuring a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience.

For devotees choosing the bus service, Gujarat Tourism and the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) have developed a complete package. This includes a three-day, four-night journey, along with accommodation. Pilgrims will stay at the Gujarat Pavilion's dormitory in Prayagraj, providing them with a restful place during their spiritual visit.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will inaugurate the Volvo bus service on January 27, 2025. From that date, buses will depart daily from the Ranip ST Depot in Ahmedabad at 7 am. Bookings for this service begin on January 25, 2025, on the GSRTC's official website. These Volvo buses promise a comfortable and convenient journey for pilgrims heading to the sacred city.
Transport Minister Harsh Sanghvi highlighted the long distance between Gujarat and Prayagraj and explained the need for an overnight stay in Shivpuri to ensure travelers' comfort. He advised passengers to follow instructions and book their trips in advance to make the journey smooth and enjoyable.
In addition to bus services, special flights from Ahmedabad to Prayagraj will also operate to meet the high demand. Starting January 28, Indigo and Akasa Air will run flights between the two cities, providing another quick and efficient option for devotees.
These efforts are part of a larger initiative to support pilgrims attending the Mahakumbh Mela. By offering convenient travel options and comfortable accommodations, Gujarat Tourism and transportation departments aim to enhance the pilgrimage experience for everyone.
The Mahakumbh Mela is one of the world's largest spiritual gatherings, held every 12 years. Devotees come to participate in ancient rituals, including the holy dip in the sacred rivers. With such a comprehensive travel arrangement, the Gujarat government is ensuring that every pilgrim can experience this extraordinary event with ease and comfort.
This thoughtful initiative not only reflects the commitment to facilitating spiritual journeys but also emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural and religious traditions. Through special buses, flights, and accommodation, the Gujarat government is helping make this sacred event accessible to all.
