Express Trains to Get Additional Coaches

One of the trains receiving extra capacity is the Erode-Chennai Central-Erode Yercaud Superfast Express. An additional Sleeper Class coach has been attached to the train on specific dates in June, allowing more passengers to travel comfortably on this busy route. Similarly, the Chennai Central-Charlapalli-Chennai Central Superfast Express has also been provided with an extra Sleeper Class coach to accommodate the increased number of travellers.

The Tuticorin-Chennai Egmore-Tuticorin Pearlcity Express has received one additional AC Three-Tier coach. This extra coach will be available for a longer period, from June through July and into early August. The enhancement is expected to benefit passengers travelling between southern Tamil Nadu and Chennai, one of the state's busiest rail corridors.

Southern Railway has also increased capacity on two important Chennai-Tirupati services. The Chennai Central-Tirupati Express and the Sapthagiri Express will each operate with an additional AC Chair Car coach. These extra coaches will run from June 3 to July 31, providing more seating for pilgrims, tourists, and regular commuters travelling between Chennai and the famous temple city of Tirupati.

How will these Trains Benefit Passengers?

According to railway officials, these temporary coach additions are aimed at reducing overcrowding and improving passenger convenience during the peak travel season. By increasing the number of available seats and berths, Southern Railway hopes to make journeys more comfortable and meet the rising demand on some of its most frequently used routes. The move is expected to benefit thousands of passengers over the next few months.
