According to an official statement, Train No. 06056, the Ernakulam Junction-Chennai Egmore Express Special, will leave Ernakulam Junction at 11.10 p.m. on Sunday. The train will reach Chennai Egmore at 12 noon the following day.

For the return journey, Train No. 06055, the Chennai Egmore-Ernakulam Junction Express Special, will depart from Chennai Egmore at 2.30 p.m. on June 1. It is scheduled to arrive at Ernakulam Junction at 4.30 a.m. the next day.

How will this Train Benefit Passengers?

The Ernakulam Junction-Chennai route is one of the important railway connections in South India and is used daily by a large number of passengers. During peak travel periods, regular trains on this route often experience high occupancy. To reduce crowding and provide additional travel options, the Railways frequently introduce special trains whenever needed.

Railway officials said the special train has been introduced to manage the additional passenger demand on this busy route. Many people travel between Kerala and Chennai for work, education, business, and personal reasons, especially during weekends and holidays. The special service is expected to provide extra convenience for travellers.
Southern Railway also announced that booking for the special train will begin at 8 a.m. on May 27. Passengers can reserve their tickets through railway reservation counters as well as online booking platforms.

Advisory for Passengers

Officials advised passengers to book tickets early because heavy demand is expected for the special service. The detailed coach composition, halts, and other travel information can be checked on official railway inquiry systems.

Passengers have also been requested to arrive at stations on time and follow railway safety guidelines while travelling. Southern Railway said it will continue to monitor passenger demand and may announce additional special services if required in the coming days.
