Enjoy Jog Falls with New KSRTC Bus Services on Sundays and Holidays

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced special Sunday buses to help tourists visit the spectacular Jog Falls in the Shimoga district of Karnataka. H. Ramanagoudar, the Hubli Rural Divisional Controller, announced this initiative to meet the high demand from the public for easier access to this natural wonder.

KSRTC Bus Services to Jog Falls

Jog Falls, located in the Shimoga district, is one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India. The Sharavathi River cascades down a rugged cliff, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The falls are most magnificent during the monsoon season when the water gushes down in full force. The lush green surroundings and misty atmosphere add to the charm of this natural wonder. If you ever get the chance, visit Jog Falls-it's a paradise for nature lovers.

To make it easier for people to experience this beautiful sight, KSRTC has arranged special buses from Hubli. These buses will depart from Gokul Road on Sundays and public holidays, providing convenient transportation to the falls. Additionally, the buses will also provide the opportunity for visitors to enjoy the darshan (sacred viewing) of the Shirasi Marikamba temple.

There are two types of buses available for this journey:

The Rajahansa Multi-Excel Volvo AC bus departs from Hubli at 7:30 am and reaches Jog Falls by 11:45 am. The return journey from Jog Falls starts around 5 pm, and the bus arrives back in Hubli by 9:30 pm. The fare for this bus is Rs. 430.

The Volvo AC bus leaves Hubli at 8 am and reaches Jog Falls by noon. It departs from Jog Falls at 5 pm and reaches Hubli around 9 pm. The fare for this bus is Rs. 600.

Booking tickets for these buses is easy. Passengers can book in advance online via KSRTC's website. Tickets can also be booked at the Gokul Road Bus Stand and the Hosur Bus Stand. For more information, people can contact the phone numbers 7760991682 or 7760991674.

When visiting Jog Falls during the monsoon season, it is important to take some precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Wear sturdy, non-slip footwear with good grip, as the pathways near the falls can be slippery. Dress in lightweight, quick-drying clothes, and carry a raincoat or waterproof jacket. Follow safety barriers and signs, avoid going too close to the edge of the cliffs, and do not stand directly under the falls.

Carry an umbrella or rain poncho to protect yourself from heavy rain and spray, and protect your camera and other electronic devices from water damage. Stay hydrated, as the misty environment can be deceiving, and you might not realize how much you're sweating. Be cautious if you have respiratory issues, as the damp air can exacerbate them. Be aware of sudden changes in water flow, as heavy rain can lead to flash floods. If you notice rising water levels, move to higher ground immediately.

Before starting your journey, check the weather forecast and road conditions. If you're taking the KSRTC buses, be prepared for possible delays due to wet roads.

With these new bus services, visiting Jog Falls has become much more convenient. This initiative by KSRTC will surely help more people enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Jog Falls and the surrounding natural wonders.
