Initial Routes and Duration
During a press conference, Mr Gahlot mentioned that the trial run is happening on two routes: Majlis Park to Pradhan Enclave and Akshardham to Mayur Vihar Phase III. The trial will continue for a week, after which feedback will be used to refine the service before its full rollout in two to three weeks.
Bus Allocation and Operation
The scheme will feature 2,080 buses in total. Of these, 1,040 buses will be managed by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), while the remaining will be operated by the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS).
"The trial run has begun on two routes -- Majlis Park to Pradhan Enclave and Akshardham to Mayur Vihar Phase III. The trial will go on for a week and based on the learnings and feedback we will roll out the scheme in two to three weeks," he said.
This new bus service is designed to tackle the problem of last-mile connectivity in Delhi, making it easier for residents to travel within their local areas.
