Delhi is likely to experience very hot weather today, with temperatures expected to reach close to 40°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a sharp rise in temperature across the city, marking the beginning of intense summer conditions. The weather is expected to remain clear, which is

one of the main reasons for the increase in heat.
Delhi Weather Alert
In the past few days, Delhi's temperature has been rising steadily. Recently, the maximum temperature was recorded as 38°C and 39°C, which is above normal for this time of year. Currently, it is expected to increase further and reach around 40°C, making the daytime conditions quite uncomfortable.
Rise in Temperatures
The IMD has also warned that temperatures may continue to rise over the next few days. Experts say that the absence of clouds and rainfall is allowing more sunlight to heat the ground directly. As a result, both day and night temperatures are increasing. The minimum temperature is also expected to rise, reducing relief during nighttime.
Another reason for this heat is the lack of any strong weather systems, such as western disturbances, which usually bring a cooling effect. Dry winds and clear skies are contributing to the rising heat levels. Therefore, Delhi and nearby areas may soon experience heatwave-like conditions.
Weather reports suggest temperatures could be a few more degrees in the coming days, possibly crossing 41 degrees Celsius, indicating the city is entering a phase of very hot and dry weather.
Advisory for Residents
People are advised to take precautions such as staying hydrated, avoiding direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, and wearing light clothing. With no immediate relief expected, residents should be prepared for a hotter-than-usual week ahead.
