Rainfall in several parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) late on Monday night and early Tuesday morning brought much-needed relief from the hot and humid weather. The showers, along with strong winds, helped lower temperatures and made the weather more comfortable for residents.
Light to moderate rain was reported in many areas of Delhi, Noida, and nearby regions. Cloudy skies and occasional drizzle continued during the morning, keeping the weather pleasant. However, the rain also caused waterlogging in some low-lying areas, leading to traffic congestion and slower vehicle movement.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi-NCR is expected to receive more light rainfall over the next 24 hours. The weather department has also predicted thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds with speeds of around 30 to 40 kmph.
The IMD said these weather conditions are likely to keep daytime temperatures below normal and provide continued relief from the high humidity that residents have been experiencing over the past few days. The cloudy skies and regular showers are also expected to make outdoor conditions more comfortable.
How the Rain Caused Problems in Some Parts of the City?
Despite the improvement in the weather, the rainfall caused problems in some parts of the city. Water accumulated on several roads, affecting the smooth movement of traffic. Motorists faced delays as vehicles moved slowly through waterlogged stretches.
Advisory for Residents
Authorities have advised commuters to plan their travel accordingly, especially during periods of heavy rain, as traffic congestion may continue in areas affected by waterlogging. Residents have also been asked to stay alert during thunderstorms and strong winds.
