Delhi is expected to receive light rain and strong winds on Tuesday, which may bring some relief from the heat and lower the temperature in the city.

Delhi Weather
On Monday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.5 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees below the normal temperature for this time of year. A day earlier, the city had recorded a maximum temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius. Even though no rainfall was reported at any weather station in Delhi till 5.30 pm on Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for light to very light rain between Monday night and Tuesday.
Delhi Rain Alert
According to the weather department, there is also a chance of thunderstorms in Delhi on Wednesday. Due to the cloudy weather, rain, and gusty winds, daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Reason behind the Weather Change
Weather officials stated that the cooler conditions are being caused by a western disturbance affecting the region. However, the impact of this weather system is likely to end by Wednesday. After that, temperatures are expected to rise again from Thursday onwards. The IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature in Delhi could touch 40 degrees Celsius by May 16. The daytime temperature is likely to stay between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius on May 16 and may further rise to around 39 to 41 degrees Celsius on May 17.
