rainfall over the next five days, with cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and light to moderate showers expected in the region.

Delhi Rain Alert

According to the IMD, Delhi-NCR is likely to witness intermittent rain along with thunderstorms and gusty winds during the week. These weather conditions are expected to keep daytime temperatures lower and provide continued relief from the recent warm and sticky conditions. The department has advised residents to remain alert as heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas, leading to waterlogging and traffic disruptions.

The overnight rainfall cooled the city significantly, making the morning weather comfortable for commuters. However, the rain also caused waterlogging in a few low-lying areas, slowing traffic during peak hours. Authorities have urged motorists to drive carefully, especially during periods of heavy rain and reduced visibility.

Five-Day Forecast in Delhi & Neighbouring Cities

The IMD's latest five-day forecast indicates that Delhi and neighbouring cities, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad, will continue to experience monsoon activity. Residents can expect generally cloudy skies with frequent spells of rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. Wind speeds may reach 30-40 kmph, with gusts of up to 50 kmph during thunderstorms. These conditions are expected to keep maximum temperatures a few degrees below normal over the coming days.

Advisory for Residents

People are advised to keep umbrellas or raincoats handy while travelling and stay updated with the latest weather alerts. Those living in flood-prone or low-lying areas should remain cautious, as heavy showers may lead to temporary waterlogging. Overall, the rainfall has brought welcome relief from humidity, and Delhi-NCR is expected to enjoy cooler and wetter weather throughout the week.
