Delhi experienced a very hot and humid day on Sunday. The maximum temperature increased slightly, while high humidity levels made the weather feel much hotter than the actual temperature. Around noon, the temperature was recorded at 39°C, but due to the humidity, it felt like 45°C, making outdoor activities extremely uncomfortable for residents.

Delhi to Face Intense Heat
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city is expected to continue facing intense heat for the next few days. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 42°C and 44°C on Tuesday and Wednesday. Despite the high temperatures, the IMD has not issued a heatwave warning so far.
Delhi Rain Alert on the Weekend
However, some relief is expected later in the week. Weather forecasts indicate the possibility of rainfall towards the weekend, which could help bring down temperatures significantly. The wet spell is expected to lower daytime temperatures to around 35°C to 37°C by June 12 and 13. This would provide much-needed relief from the current hot and humid conditions.
Delhi to be affected by the Western Disturbance
The IMD has also stated that a latest western disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from June 11. Due to this weather system, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by around 2°C over the next two days. After that, temperatures are likely to remain stable for another two days before dropping by 4°C to 6°C. Minimum temperatures are also expected to increase by 1°C to 2°C until June 10, remain largely unchanged for the following 24 hours, and then decrease by 2°C to 3°C.
For Monday, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to stay between 41°C and 43°C. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take necessary precautions while stepping outdoors during peak afternoon hours.
