Residents across several parts of Delhi should prepare for scheduled power outages on Tuesday, July 14, as electricity distribution companies, including BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL), BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL), carry out planned maintenance and infrastructure upgrade works.
The temporary shutdowns are part of routine maintenance aimed at improving the reliability of the electricity network, replacing ageing equipment, carrying out repairs and strengthening the power distribution system. While most outages are expected to last for a few hours, residents are advised to charge essential devices in advance and plan their day accordingly.
Areas Affected by the July 14 Power Cut
According to the scheduled maintenance list, power supply is expected to be affected in the following localities across Delhi:
BRPL Areas
- Janakpuri Division: C Block Janakpuri, D Block Janakpuri, District Centre Janakpuri, Posangipur Village, Block CA Hari Nagar, RWA Colony
- Nangloi Division: Naresh Park Pocket A, Gurunanak Vihar, Nangloi
- Hauz Khas Division: Telephone Exchange SDA Area
- Chhatarpur Division: Villages and towns in Chhatarpur, Aya Nagar, Guru Nanak Vihar
- Tagore Garden Division: Block B, Prithvi Park, Tilak Nagar, Block B-2, Raghubir Nagar, Tagore Garden Extension, Block AE
- Khanpur Division: Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, RMU Power Grid Shooting Range area, JJ Colony, Duggal Colony, Khanpur Village
- Mohan Garden Division: Phase-2 Om Vihar, Nawada, Block C, Vipin Garden
- Alaknanda Division: DLF, W-Block Greater Kailash-II (GK-II)
- Palam/Dwarka Division: Sector 8 Dwarka, Raj Nagar Extension, Vijay Enclave, Mahavir Enclave
- Mundka Division: Savita Vihar, West Cabin Block, Mundka Extension, Mundka Industrial Area and adjoining residential pockets
BYPL Areas
- East Delhi: Laxmi Nagar and nearby localities
- Nizamuddin/Daryaganj Division: Nizamuddin, Lajpat Nagar-III, Gandhi Samadhi, Rajghat, Daryaganj
TPDDL Areas
- North-West Delhi: Various blocks of Rohini

- 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Block CA Hari Nagar, Phase-2 Om Vihar (Nawada), Savita Vihar and West Cabin Block (Mundka)
- 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: RWA Colony (Janakpuri), Telephone Exchange SDA Area (Hauz Khas), Block C Vipin Garden, DLF W-Block GK-II, Tagore Garden localities
- 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM: Gurunanak Vihar and Nangloi
- 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM: C Block, D Block and District Centre Janakpuri
- 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Villages and surrounding areas of Chhatarpur
- 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Parts of Laxmi Nagar and East Delhi

Why Is There a Scheduled Power Cut?
The outages are being carried out to facilitate preventive maintenance, network strengthening, equipment replacement, installation of new electrical circuits and other essential repair works. Such planned shutdowns help distribution companies reduce the risk of unexpected faults and improve long-term reliability of power supply across the Capital.
Advisory for Residents
Residents living in the affected areas are advised to keep mobile phones, laptops and power banks fully charged before the scheduled shutdown. Those working from home or operating businesses dependent on uninterrupted electricity should make alternate arrangements where possible.
Consumers can also check updates from their respective electricity distribution companies in case maintenance work is completed earlier than scheduled or timings are revised.
