Delhi Power Cut on 3 August: Several Areas in Delhi will be Affected Today Due to Maintenance Work

Delhi residents should be prepared for scheduled power cuts on Monday, August 3, as power distribution companies (DISCOMs) carry out maintenance work to improve the city's electricity network. The planned work aims to strengthen the power grid and reduce the risk of unexpected outages, especially during the peak summer season and the upcoming monsoon.

The power cuts will affect several areas across West, East and North Delhi. According to the schedule, Krishna Nagar will face a power outage from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm under BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL). In Rohini Sector 7, electricity supply will remain suspended from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm by Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL). Residents of Janakpuri Block B will experience a power cut from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm under BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL).

During the maintenance work, utility teams will upgrade old transformers and clear overhead power lines to improve the reliability of electricity supply. These measures are expected to help prevent major faults and ensure a more stable power supply in the coming weeks.

Advisory for Residents

Residents are advised to complete important tasks that require electricity before the scheduled power cuts begin. They should also avoid using lifts around the outage timings, especially in apartment buildings. People working from home are encouraged to keep power banks and other backup devices fully charged.

If electricity is not restored after the scheduled maintenance period, residents can report the issue by calling the central electricity helpline at 1912. They can also contact their respective DISCOMs through their dedicated WhatsApp complaint numbers. Keeping the Unique Service Number (USN) ready will help officials identify the affected connection and resolve complaints more quickly.

Residents are also encouraged to check the latest updates through the official mobile apps or websites of their respective DISCOMs. Although the temporary power cuts may cause some inconvenience, the maintenance work is expected to improve the city's power infrastructure and provide a more reliable electricity supply in the future.
