To improve Delhi's metro travel, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is building a new metro station at Inderlok. This new station is part of the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor and aims to make travel smoother between the Red Line (Line 1) and the Green Line (Line 5). The station will help thousands of daily commuters by making their travel faster and more comfortable.

New Station Features and Facilities
The upcoming Inderlok metro station will have two platforms and will be able to handle 6-coach metro trains. For the ease of passengers, the station will include four lifts and eight escalators. These features will help manage large crowds, allowing people to enter and exit the station easily and safely.
To make changing trains easier, a foot overbridge (FOB) will connect the new Inderlok station with the existing one. This design will let passengers switch between metro lines without leaving the station premises. DMRC officials said this will save time and reduce crowding, improving the overall metro experience.
Better Links Between Indraprastha and Mundka
Once the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor is completed, passengers will be able to travel directly between Indraprastha and Mundka. This is expected to be very helpful for daily travelers and will improve the metro system's overall usefulness.
Details of the Inderlok-Indraprastha Corridor
The new corridor will be 12.4 kilometers long and will have 10 stations. It will act as an extension of the Green Line and include key stops like Inderlok, Daya Basti, Sarai Rohilla, Ajmal Khan Park, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, LNJP Hospital, Delhi Gate, Delhi Secretariat, and Indraprastha. Out of these, five stations will serve as interchange stations. Most of the corridor-11.3 kilometers-will run underground with nine stations, and the remaining 1.1 kilometers will be elevated with one station.
Part of Delhi Metro's Phase IV Plan
This project is part of DMRC's Phase IV expansion, which includes three major metro lines covering a total of 65 kilometers. These are:
- Janakpuri West to RK Ashram (Magenta Line Extension) - 29.2 km
- Majlis Park to Maujpur (Pink Line Extension) - 12.3 km, to be finished by 2025
- Aerocity to Tughlakabad (Golden Line) - 23.6 km, to be completed by 2026
These expansions will help connect more areas of Delhi and make public transport quicker and easier.
The new Inderlok metro station and the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor will bring major improvements to the Delhi Metro. It will make travel easier, reduce delays, and offer better connectivity across the city.
