Delhi Metro Green & Magenta Lines: Commuters can Switch at Peeragarhi Metro Interchange Station

Delhi Metro commuters will soon be able to switch between the Green and Magenta lines at Peeragarhi, as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is developing a new interchange station in the area. The facility is expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling across west Delhi and provide easier access to different parts of the national capital.

The interchange is being constructed between the existing Peeragarhi station on the Green Line and the upcoming station on the Magenta Line's Krishna Park Extension-Deepali Chowk section under Phase 4. According to a DMRC official, the new section is expected to open for passengers by the end of 2026.

The proposed interchange will benefit commuters from Peeragarhi, Peeragarhi Village, Udyog Nagar and Paschim Vihar. It will allow passengers to change between the two Metro corridors without leaving the paid area of the station.

Both the existing and upcoming stations at Peeragarhi are elevated. A 160-metre-long foot overbridge will connect the two stations, enabling convenient transfers between the Green and Magenta lines. Around 90 per cent of the civil construction work at the station has been completed, while architectural finishing work is currently underway.
The Green Line connects areas along the Inderlok-Kirti Nagar and Brig Hoshiar Singh corridor, while the Magenta Line provides connectivity between western Delhi and southern and eastern parts of the city through its Botanical Garden-Majlis Park corridor.

The upcoming Krishna Park Extension-Deepali Chowk section is part of the Delhi Metro's Phase 4 expansion. The project aims to bridge the operational sections of the Magenta Line and extend Metro connectivity across western and northwestern Delhi.

Delhi Metro currently has 31 interchange stations connecting different corridors. With the completion of Phase 4, around 18 additional interchange stations are expected to be introduced, further improving connectivity across the network. The new Peeragarhi interchange is expected to make daily travel more convenient for commuters in densely populated areas of West Delhi.
